So the time has come once again where Acer has kindly taken myself and various other bloggers/journalists on a small trip to showcase their new product portfolio. If you remember last year Acer took us to Edinburgh, well this year they’ve actually flown us over to Dublin for the event!
Their new product portfolio includes devices such as the Liquid Jade Z smartphone, the Aspire Switch 10E 2-in-1, the Revo desktop, the Vitro gaming laptop as well as the Iconia One 8 tablet.
Day 1
Once we’d arrived in Dublin, checked into the hotel it was time to set off for our first fun task/challenge of the weekend. The task was to cook a three-course meal at Cooks Academy.
We were split into 4 teams and then asked to follow a recipe to create our meal which was:
Starters: Tortilla chips with homemade guacamole and hummus.
Main: Oven baked chicken wrapped in Parma Ham, stuffed with a sun-dried tomato stuffing and served with garlic spinach, sauteed potatoes and mustard veloute.
Dessert: Raspberry & Amaretto crunch cake
Each groups food turned out fantastic and once we’d all finished cooking we all sat down to enjoy what we had made.
Day 2
To start off the day we were all taken to the CLG Na Fianna club where they play a variety of Irish sports including Handball, Gaelic Football and Hurling. Not only did we learn each of these sports but we also had the chance to *try* and play the Bodhrán Drum which is much more difficult than you would expect.
Later that afternoon it was time to head into Dublin to explore the city and complete further challenges which were set by the Acer UK team.
Challenge 1: Form the word ‘Acer’ in the grounds of Trinity College.
Challenge 2: Visit the River Liffey and sketch it using the Precision Touch Technology on the Iconia One 8.
Challenge 3: Take a pit stop and a photo of Irelands oldest pub, The Brazen Head.
Challenge 4: Take a picture of your team writing Acer in the froth of a pint of Guinness.
In the evening, we ended the day with a fantastic meal at one of Dublin’s top-rated restaurants BANG.
A special thanks to the whole Acer UK team and the OttoPR team for organising and hosting the event as well as inviting me again this year. They’ll be plenty of articles/reviews coming up about the products that I managed to get hands-on with over the coming week.
