After the official cancellation of MWC 2020, Oral-B decided to push ahead with their own, independent event hosted in Barcelona. At this event they took the opportunity to introduce the new Oral-B iO toothbrush.

The iO is marketed as Oral-B’s most revolutionary brush to date, by combining the oscillation rotation technology with micro-vibrations, so that the brush glides tooth by tooth for a smooth and quiet experience.

The new brush has been designed with an all-new user interface that was inspired by the input from more than 1,800 consumers and comes equipped with Bluetooth. This means you can connect it to your smartphone and to the new Oral-B app which will enhance your brushing experience by providing personalised alerts and 3D graphics.

7 cleaning modes are included such as whiten, sensitive and daily clean.

Key new features include:

• An interactive display enables easy navigation through the brush features and personalisation; welcome greetings, choice of brushing modes, language settings and reminders to change the brush head.
• A smart pressure sensor guides users to apply optimal cleaning pressure. The sensor warns of over-pressure with a red light and indicates in green when users are applying the optimal cleaning pressure.
• Includes a sleek magnetic charger which provides a fast full charge in just ~three hours. The brush display provides an easy-to-read battery strength indicator.
• The new Oral-B app provides 3D graphics and the AI brushing recognition technology recognises all areas within the mouth, guiding users toward 100% brushing area completion.
• The visual timer provides personalised guidance for users to reach their best clean yet. The timer tracks each brushing sessions duration, so users know when they have brushed for the dentist-recommended two minutes. Smiley icons on the display let users know if they have achieved their goal.

All in all the Oral-B iO looks like a really sleek and well designed brush for everyday use. The price has not yet been confirmed, but we’ll be sure to update when its released, and hopefully bring you a full review.
